ReKeyItDaemon v0.9 beta
Copyright © 1995 by Michael Barsoom
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Workbench menu shortcut changer.
Many of you have been using my program ReKeyIt to change the menu shortcuts
there is however one small problem with it. If you change the screenmode
you loose the new shortcuts.
This is where ReKeyItDaemon comes in. It is a small commodity that
attaches waits for changes to the screenmode. When they occur it will
change the menus back to what you want.
This is a BETA release of ReKeyItDaemon. It is not fully complete in that
you cannot set the CX priority etc. It does however work to keep the
shortcuts the way you want them through a screen change. The first non
beta version will be included in the ReKeyIt archive.
To quit just send it a control-c, select kill via the exchange, or run it
again.
Please try this and let me know if you find any bugs.
I can be reached at any of the following e-mail addresses
Internet: mbars@bluejay.creighton.edu
Fidonet: Michael Barsoom @ 1:285/5.9
NOTE: There is a one second delay between when the new screen opens to
when the menu shortcuts will be replaced. If you discover that this is not
long enough please let me know.
NOTE: You still MUST use ReKeyIt to change the menu shortcuts when you
first boot up. ReKeyItDaemon makes NO changes to the menus when it is
first run, only if the screenmode changes.
NOTE: I did not add the code necessary to check if someone else has
patched the OpenWorkBench() function. If you use a program that also
patches this function, make sure you quit them in the reverse order than
they were started. The safety code will be added to the official release.
ReKeyIt is being released under the concept of 'FreeWare'.
ReKeyIt may be freely distributed as long as no charge is made other than to
cover time and copying costs. If it is to be distributed via floppy disk,
this cost should be no higher than $3.00 (three) dollars US. If distribution
is via CDRom, the total cost should be no more than what Fred Fish charges for
one of his CDRom collections.
You may not copy and/or distribute this program without the accompanying
documentation unless you get permission from the author to do so.
Fred Fish and Walnut Creek have my permission to include this program on their
CDRom collections.
Finally if you wish to include ReKeyIt on a disk magazine you are @{b}REQUIRED@{ub} to
get the author's permission @{b}FIRST@{ub}. Usually this will require you to just send
me a copy of the issue which contains ReKeyIt free of charge.
